Overview:
South East England is the economic
powerhouse of the UK. Not only does it have the largest population and workforce
in the country, it also has the highest R&D spend. Located between London and
Europe, it is home to many of the world’s most successful international
companies and an important base for UK, European and global operations.
South East England has the second highest R&D spend after the East of England.
The world-renowned Oxford University is at the western end of the
‘Oxford2Cambridge Arc’, which brings together industry, academia and contract
research organisations. The University receives the highest research income of
any UK university.
There are 24 universities and higher education institutes in total, plus two of
Europe’s best business schools in the region, along with an infrastructure of
science parks, lab space, intellectual property services and funding
opportunities.
“Quality of life is crucial
to us. We want our developers to engage with the world around them. So, we
considered locations that would be interesting and inspiring, where they could
go out and explore.”
Ginsu Yoon, VP Business Affairs, Linden Lab.
